Request data deletion

Overview

You can delete some or all of your data in Momento without contacting us. Hosts manage events and accounts; guests delete their own photos from the event gallery. If you cannot sign in or need help, email cameramomento@gmail.com with subject line Data deletion request.

Hosts — delete your account and all hosted data

1. Web: Sign in at momento.camera/dashboard → Account tab → Delete account → type DELETE to confirm.
2. Android / iOS app: Open Momento → Settings → Delete Account → enter your password → type DELETE to confirm.

This permanently removes your host account, all events you host, photos in those events, recaps, guest records, and related metadata. We aim to remove personal account data within 30 days of confirmed deletion.

Hosts — delete data without deleting your account

• Delete one event: Open the event → Host settings → delete the event. Removes all photos, guests, and recaps for that event only.
• Delete individual photos: Host gallery → open a photo → remove it (host moderation).
• Export first (optional): Dashboard → Account → Download your data (JSON), or mobile Settings → Export data.

Guests — delete your photos

1. Join the event (QR code or link) with the same nickname you used when uploading.
2. Open the gallery → tap your photo → delete it.

Guests do not create Momento accounts. Deleting your photos removes your uploads from the event gallery and recap pool. If you cannot access the event, email cameramomento@gmail.com with the event link and your guest nickname.

Email request (if you cannot use the app)

Send an email to cameramomento@gmail.com with:

• Subject: Data deletion request
• Your host account email, or event link + guest nickname
• What to delete: full account, one event, or specific photos

We aim to respond within 48 hours and complete verified requests promptly.

What is deleted vs kept

Automatic retention

Event photos may also be removed automatically after the plan retention period: approximately 6 months on the free plan or up to 2 years on paid plans (from event creation). Bulk-imported photographer photos may be removed about 30 days after the event end date. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
